I love how the colours are just right, somehow you can tell it's water colour but somehow it's quite opaque at the same time.

hehe, poor Dr Longbody, where did you get the idea of the name from?

Gee thanks! (I actually start with watercolor and do some transparent digital layers to make the colors pop). I appreciate the kind feedback :)

Oh... and Dr. Longbody is a nickname that we call our corgi Radar.

Hey Meridth, How cool was this!!
I really love the illustration with all the wonderful creators and all. It's so much fun. This is off the wall crazy fun!!! I was wondering if this was your wonderful character that has coming to live in Wibbly Wobbly Woods. I just adore the name and we are putting the list of names together so that you can other can be addressed to that name. Keeping with the whimsical world theme. Let me know if this shall be Wobbin's name.

Hey Girl, don't feel like that. I love to hear what you have to say. I value your opinion and I remember before you and both got busy that we always, always visited each others blogs. Life happens. If you doing what I'm doing then we are both busy! You are talented and awesome illustrator. You don't get that way by blogging all day hee hee hee! You've got to hone your craft and work at it and every time I see your fabulous work I know that you are working hard to make it look so simple and beautiful. That takes work. I recently had someone say to me, "What do you do for a living?" I told them that I was a writer and Illustrator. I couldn't believe the next comment. I was told, "Oh that's easy and why don't you get a real job." I really wanted to stomp the person, but I held it together and just walked away. It wasn't worth explaining to someone who had the brain of a gnat so I just let it go. Anyway, Dr. Longbody, I think that you are mad crazy cute and whimsical. I can't wait to find out where you are going to take root in WWW. Have a good one my friend. YOU ARE DA BOMB!!!!

LOVE that Background, and the idea that cats having wings are falling out of the sky like rain. Hilarious! You crack me up Merdth!

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the feedback!!

Vanessa- Thanks for soothing my frazzled conscience. I can't believe that person told you to get a "real" job. I want to sit those people down and make them come up with a story/illustration and see how they do. I don't think that people realize how much work and time goes into creative projects.

I simply love Dr. Longbody. I can certainly understand him being tired of the rain cats, considering they have claws and all. Plus his umbrella is a little small to handle such a storm. HA!

This a great illustration, total and complete.

Have a great day.

I have to agree with Nessa. I find it very interesting when people make such stupid remarks about a "real job." That's because they've never experienced the toil that comes along with the joy of creating something.

I commend both you, Meridth, and Nessa for the unquestionable talent you choose to share with us. It is truly an inspiration for me.

Thanks Cheryl! That really means a lot to me. :)

Hey Meridth,
I've changed the email for my illo blog, so when you go to FA'SHOE'NISTA, Dream Out Loud won't be there. I've moved it to it's own email.

Have a great day and I look forward to more adventures with Dr. Longbody!

I miss out on so much when I don't go blogging. This picture caused me to chuckle. I love the way you inspire me. Its so much better than the way a dirty room inspires me. (That is to say, not to draw. [But to clean. {the room, I mean. They sometimes inspire me to clean them. /Not often./}]) What I'm trying to say is that you're way better than a dirty room.

Meridth McKean Gimbel said...

Hee hee. I have to say that I am delighted to be cooler than a dirty room. Thanks Jennifer :)
