You Threw off my Groove! (I'm sorry but you've thrown off the Emperor's Groove.)

So I'm happy to report my absence as resulting in me having a pretty adorable little girl last Wednesday!

Her name's Ursa Adriana (Ursa after the star constellation). We thought it was a pretty strong name for our girl. The Austrian/German nickname for Ursa or Ursula is Uschi (pronounced like sushi without the "s") so that's what we'll mainly call her.

Anyway, I just wanted to thank all of you for being incredibly supportive and I just wanted to say that I look forward to man-handling my schedule so that art wins over sleep ;)

Congratulations on your daughter. My two sons are teenagers now but what I can tell you is that your daughter will certainly inform your art if she leaves you time to do it. My sons made me see the world anew - and re-introduced me to Lego (that's only a man thing probably)

It's interesting. I was just thinking about what an advantage it is to be a children's illustrator with a child.

AAhhhh!!! I love it!! Congrats to you sweety! And yes having a child is a big advantage! I have to ask my friends with kids questions when I do illustrations and need insight into the child psyche! LOL!

This is such a great drawing! So cute. You should make it one of your cards and then new mommies can buy them and use them as thank you cards for all the gifts they got at there baby shower. Just a thought I thought I would share.

She is simply beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh I was jumping up and down when I found out your blessed news! Don't worry about WWW. We will be here when you catch your breathe and all. Right now your main concern is and your beautiful little girl! How fabulous! So sorry about your colic baby! Girl don't you know I know your heart??? Zoe had colic as well. It wasn't pretty and everyone has a remedy for it. Well none of them worked for me. I had to come with my own Meridth.
My husband gave me a charlie brown Jazz CD by Vince ( and I forget his last name right now) but I would put on the cd and warm some olive oil with lavender essential oil in it. just a little. I would rub her belly and massage her till she drifted off. When that didn't work, I wrapped her like they did in the hospital to make her feel like she was still in the womb. They love that feeling. I know you need your sleep and all and it can get overwhelming to say the very least, but enjoy every single moment because before you know it will be next year and the little darling will be 1 and trying to do everything she wants to he he he! Take care honey!
